devil toenail?

Ok, so last night I was doing research on Gryphaea (oyster-like shell fish from the Jurassic period) and I was having some troubles. A few of my sources told me how, long ago when Gryphaea was first discovered, it was nicknamed the "devil's toenail". But they also told me that this was an odd nickname because the devil is usually pictured with hooves.

Last night @ ski club, I fell twice. The first time was on the steepest hill there, and it didn't hurt at all. The second time was on the bunny hill. When I fell on the bunny hill it hurt wwwaaayy more. I really don't know how this is possible.

At school, we were playing a cherade-like game. My group got "bury someone who has died". One of the people in my group goes, "Ok here's the plan. I'll go and murder the other guy in the group, and then I'll mummify him, wrap him in charmin ultra soft toilet paper, because you need to have the best in order to rest in peace, and then you'll pretend to bury him."

So. Today I was wondering why we say something is cheesy. Not the "cheesy" you say when you eat some cheese, but like ''that song was really cheesy". Why? I'm pretty sure it doesn't taste, smell, or look like cheese.

a low speed limit

So, recently, I've come across some funny facts that have to do with the low speed limit a long time ago. For example, Teddy Roosevelt was the police commissioner of New York City in 1895 when he formed the "Bicycle Squad." Members of the squad chased down speeders who exceeded the speed limit of 8 miles per hour. Another fact, the first person to be killed by a car (in it or by it, I can't remember)... well, how to finish that sentence, I don't know, but the car was going a very, very high speed of... wait for it.... wait for it... 4 mph!

sand dissection

So today in Science we dissected sand. It is the kind of job you would give to somebody as torture. my teacher gave everybody a small pile of sand and we had to sort all the itty bitty pieces into piles of granite, feldspar, magnetite, mica, quartz, limestone, and organic material. Sooooooo frustrating!

treadmill

So last night at a Super Bowl Party at my cousin's house, I got bored and started jogging on their treadmill. Then, my sister comes up and speeds it up to, like, 60 mph, and I fall, skin both my knees, and roll off. Appearently, she's always wanted to watch somebody fall off a treadmill and I was her lucky victim.

Today i feel sick. But that's kinda ok because this is the first Satudray in a lllooonnnnggg time that I don't have to go to a swim meet or anything else on.

Anyways.... Last night I was dreaming I was on top of a ski hill, and I was really thirsty. There were tons of other people there, too, all running around looking for water. When I woke up, I was really thirsty and it was really strange.

phobia

I was reading the Useless Knowledge today, and found out that there is a phobia for the fear of bald people. Why would somebody be scared of someone without hair?
